Get Instagram followers hashtags

A technique unknown to most people to increase followers with hashtags

An excellent method to get an avalanche of new followers is to ensure that our photos end up in the Popular Page.

But how can this be done? Simple: through an incisive and appropriate use of hashtags.

Let me explain you better.

For each hashtag you will search on Instagram there is a page, divided in turn into 2 sections: the most popular posts, ie 9 photos in evidence, and the most recent posts, then all the photos published with that hashtag but in chronological order.

Entering the Popular Page has a double advantage. On the one hand you will be able to get a lot more visibility with your post, on the other the Instagram algorithm will understand that the content you have posted is a quality content.

Our aim will therefore – obviously – be to finish among the 9 top posts of the highest possible number of hashtags. And here comes the right choice of the right hashtag.

How to choose hashtags to be able to enter the top posts?

One answer that can arise spontaneously is to use the most common hashtags. But using the most used hashtags, such as #love, #instagood or #photooftheday, you will then have to compete with thousands and thousands of photos to reach the top nine of the popular.

This translates into a very low chance of reaching the Popular Page for those hashtags, unless your profile counts millions and millions of followers. But in this case you probably would not be reading this article, right? 😀

How to do then to gain visibility through the hashtags?

Hold on tight because I’m about to reveal a strategy that is virtually unknown to most of the people of Instagram.

Almost no one knows that hashtags can be divided into 3 distinct groups: large hashtags, medium and small hashtags.

This categorization is very important for growing your Instagram followers and in a moment you will also discover why.

As you surely know, for every single photo Instagram allows you to enter a maximum of 30 hashtags. The secret to choosing the right ones is to choose 10 small, 10 medium and 10 large hashtags.

But what is the difference between these 3 groups of hashtags?

It’s very simple:

  • Small hashtags are those that have a volume between 0 and 999,000 posts
  • Average hashtags have a volume of between 1 and 5 million posts
  • The big hashtags are those from 5 million posts up

The choice of hashtags depends mainly on the number of your followers. There is a formula that I always recommend to keep in mind to always choose the right hashtags:

Volume hashtag = [Number of followers X 100]

I’ll explain.

Let’s say you manage a profile that has 1,000 followers.

Applying the formula I just told you you’ll get (1,000 x 100) = 100,000. This means that the volume of small hashtags that you will have to choose will have a volume of about 100 thousand posts.

In this way you will have more chances that your picture is in popular posts, exponentially increasing your visibility and therefore the likes, interactions and followers.

To effectively choose the right hashtags to use, my advice is to take a look at the hashtags of the profiles closest to you or your competitors to get some ideas about the tags to use.

Also try to always opt for individual concepts (eg: #sole or #vacanze) instead of writing complete sentences (eg #noncifermanessuno).

One last tip about Instagram hashtags: what language do you write them in?

The answer is quite simple: if the target audience you’re targeting is Italian, opt for hashtags in Italian. Instead, if you turn to a larger audience, use hashtags in English.

Instagram allows you to enter up to 30 hashtags: do not be afraid to use them all!
